Alex Hintz

Alex Hintz

Alex grew up in the Vancouver area with his parents Dean and Anjela and younger sister Sophia. He enjoyed living near the ocean, going for walks in the parks by the water and playing with his pets. When he was nine he moved with his family to Sofia, Bulgaria for four years, where his mother was originally from. Besides time with the family, studying, and learning Bulgarian in Sofia, he enjoyed discovering the countryside, including spending time in traditional mountain villages and exploring ancient historical sites. There he also developed a love for travel with opportunities to visit diverse destinations across Europe and the Near East, from Istanbul to London, and Rome to Dubai and Armenia. He continued to grow in appreciation for the richness of local ethnic cultures, and in particular a wide variety of cuisines. In 2012, he moved with his family back to Surrey, BC, Canada, where he completed his grade school. In high school, he enjoyed studying history, foods and drama. After graduating, he attended college in Surrey for a couple of years and completed certificates at Pacific Life College and Kwantlen College. Then the pandemic hit, and with it the shift to remote work. This opened up possibilities for relocation and Alex's family decided to move to Winnipeg, Manitoba. In the fall of 2021 he had a chance encounter with a local actor who mentioned an opportunity for diversity actors in a film that would be shooting soon in Winnipeg. Alex decided to take the chance and soon after was cast as Arthur in the Gold Circle/Focus Features film Champions, directed by Bobby Farrelly and starring Woody Harrelson and Kaitlin Olson. After Champions, Alex began volunteering at the local Assiniboine Park Zoo and the Leaf Botanical Gardens. He enjoys reading, writing, photography, attending local concerts and cultural events, and taking care of his pets. He also continues to study acting privately, and is looking forward to pursuing new projects.
