Mithun Debnath
Mithun Debnath is an Indian Actor/Director/Writer. He graduated in Mass Media & Creative Writing from Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi in 2005.
His first job was as an RJ /Radio Presenter/Announcer on All India Radio, New Delhi. After finding his passion for screen acting from voice acting, he got selected in the Two-year Post-graduation Diploma course in Acting in the prestigious Film & Television Institute of India, Pune in 2007.
As an actor, he has worked in many Hindi & Bengali feature films, short films, web series, Television series, and Docu-features. He started his career with onscreen name 'Dweep Mithun' for films namely From Sydney with Love (2012), Shono Ekti Premer Galpo Boli (2013, incomplete Bengali feature film) Nandigramer Chokher Pani(2014) and Tenant(2014 Hindi Short film). But later on, changed his name to Mithun Debnath and worked on projects named Sangabora (2016, feature film), Bose: Dead/Alive (Hindi Web/TV Series, 2017), Nabab (2017, feature film), Bioscopewala (2017, Feature film), Six (Web series,2018), Robibaar (2019, feature film) , Iti Memories ( Bengali Web/TV Series, 2022). A Hindi short film named Sadak-Chaap (2014) directed by Anvita Sudarshan where Mithun acted was screened at Cannes Short Film Corner in 2015.
Apart from on-screen work, he has been doing 'Research and Development 'for fiction and non-fiction for various audio-visual mediums and has written and made a few short films. A few of his directorial short films are Happy Quarantine (2020) & Perfect Strangers (2020).
