Rajni Bala
Rajni Bala was a prominent Hindi cinema actress of yesteryear's, who mostly appeared in side roles in the movies of 60's and 70's. She has acted in a number of super hit movies of her times in which she acted along with some of the leading names of the Indian Cinema like Mr. Dilip Kumar, ' Dev Anand' & other prominent actors of that period. She acted in the Hindi movies from very early age & witnessed the transition of movies from black and white to the colored screen. Some of her movies like 'Shriman Shrimati', Roti Kapda Aur Makaan', Pran Jaye Par Vachan Na Jaye' etc., are still watched and appreciated by the viewers. In her acting career, she also made a niche, as an 'Item Girl'. She made dance appearance in movies like 'Dus Numbri' and 'Aparadhi'. After a long break from movies, she again faced the camera for television as Lord Rama's step mother Sumitra, in Ramanand Sagar's epic serial ' Ramayan'. She also appeared in other famous television serial ' Vikram Aur Betaal', which was aired on DD. She essayed the roles of Hindu deities such as 'Maa Durga, 'Parvati' and 'Maa Santoshi', later in her career. She was widely liked for these mythological appearances a lot.
Along with ' Jayshree Talpade' & ' Helen' , the leading dancers of that time, she led the dancing bandwagon of the Bollywood during 1970's. She lived in Mumbai and died on 6 December 2010.
