Akil Jackson
Akil Jackson is an Atlanta based, bi-coastal actor, voiceover artist, event emcee, and assistant director. Shortly after completing production on Season 4 of Freeform's Grown-ish (2018), Akil had his film debut in the short Second Team (2020) alongside Phill Lewis and Francia Raisa.
Born in Macon, Georgia, Akil lived in various states up and down the East Coast before settling in Brunswick, Georgia where he graduated from Glynn Academy High School. Akil received his education in Multimedia Communications and Drama from Georgia Southern University in 2015.
In college, Akil had an award winning theatrical career and was recognized on multiple occasions by the KCACTF for his outstanding work on shows such as David Mamet's RACE and Katori Hall's The Mountaintop. His deep, baritone voice is constantly compared to that of James Earl Jones and Barry White.
Akil began working in the film industry in Savannah, Georgia where he gained invaluable experience assisting in the production of multiple titles such as Emperor (2020) directed by Mark Amin, Disney's Lady and the Tramp (2019) directed by Charlie Bean, and The Glorias (2020) directed by Julie Taymor and starring Julianne Moore.
