Bola Aiyeola
Bola Aiyeola was born in Nigeria and moved to London, England when she was 12. She was classically trained at the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts (ALRA) in London. Whilst in London, she worked in theatre, radio and television. TV: Series regular in Crown Prosecutor (BBC TV); Rockcliffe Babies (BBC TV); Case of the Missing torso (BBC TV). Selected theatre (UK): Woman in Death and the King's Horseman by Wole Soyinka under the direction of Phyllida Lloyd (Royal Exhange, Manchester - British premiere). In addition, she had the tremendous pleasure of working directly with Wole Soyinka as Miseyi in the world premiere of The Beatification of Area Boy (The West Yorkshire Playhouse, Leeds); Jack in The Man in the Moon (The Everymans' Theatre, Liverpool); Balthasar/Friar Frances in Much Ado about Nothing (The Everymans' Theatre, Liverpool); Alhaji Aiyemikoya in Flamingo (The Gate Theatre, London); Chorus in Medea (Royal Exchange, Manchester). Radio: Miseyi in The Beatification of Area Boy (BBC Radio); First Girl in Blood Wedding (BBC Radio); Woman in Death and the King's Horseman (BBC Radio); Alaba in Memories of a Distant Past (BBC Radio).
Moving to Canada as a young adult, she continued working in the entertainment industry. Film/TV: Clarice (CBS), The Expanse (Syfy), Coroner (CW), Damien (A&E), Lucky Day (Feature), 'Da Kink in my Hair (Global), The Border (CBC), This is Wonderland (CBC). Theatre: Fatima in The Container (Summerworks), Petra in Petra (Theatre Direct). She also has had the pleasure of serving twice as a juror for the ACTRA Awards and working with the panel to select the Outstanding Female Performer.
