Joseph Sernio
No stranger to Film or Television Joe was born and raised in Jersey City Heights, Joe Sernio graduated from Howell High School and studied both Computer Networking and Technical Support at The Chubb Institute. A jack of all trades, Joe tried his hand in the restaurant business at the age of 20, ultimately co-owning 455 Restaurant Bar and Lounge with his uncle after the unexpected death of his father at the age of 45.
During his tenure as a restaurateur, Joe began to delve into the entertainment industry. Determined to learn from the best, he would take the train into Manhattan at the close of each business day; there, he undertook classes at The Ted Bardy Studio, later going on to study under renowned coaches such as Bob McAndrew. Soon accepted into the AFTRA Union for his role in As The World Turns, Joe decided to pursue acting full time.
Following recurring roles on All My Children, Love Monkey, and Haunting Evidence, Joe decided to have a go at film. From working alongside Sarah Jessica Parker in Spinning Into Butter to starring in Nick Pavano's award-winning The Roadhouse, Joe's work quickly earned him accolades with local audiences. After taking home the Garden State Film Festival's Robert Pastorelli Rising Star Award in 2011, Joe was bestowed both the Northeast Film Festival's award for Best Supporting Actor In A Feature Film and the Hang Onto Your Shorts Film Festival's award for Honoree In The Arts For Acting in 2015. As recently as 2017, Joe's work in Bad Frank helped garner the film 20 wins and 21 nominations both nationally and around the globe.
Never one to turn down an opportunity, Joe has appeared in various print and media campaigns. Known in South Jersey as the face of Bentley Diamonds, he was featured in a national ad for Stuff magazine alongside Italian favorites Donnie Brasco and Tommy Patillo. Enchanted by the friendships he developed with like-minded stars, Joe took to live script readings in New York City's elaborate theatre district. Both on stage and behind the scenes, his latest endeavors in the city include production credits alongside The Soprano's Vinny Pastore.
A Jersey boy at heart, Joe took his talents back home to manage a local bakery and focus on his digital marketing startup. With three locations in New Jersey and offices on both sides of the country, Red Rose Bakery Shoreline Media Marketing and a 3rd Digital Agency have solidified Joe's reputation in the community as an entrepreneurial maven. Ever the philanthropist, Joe donates both his money and time to the likes of The Ashley Lauren Foundation, The Alopecia Foundation, The National Arthritis Foundation, and the National Heart Association. A prolific speaker, Joe is an active presence in his adopted hometown of Asbury Park and has spoken to students at several local high schools about positive role modeling.
An avid traveler, Joe now lives and works on both coasts. In addition to running his several businesses/companies, he continues to audition for acting roles and always has a new project up his sleeve. With numerous nominations and awards under his belt, Joe's most cherished role is as father and best friend to his black lab, Holly.
