Andy Stewart
Andy Stewart was born in Glasgow, Scotland on Halloween 1980.
He worked for a while as a freelance sports journalist for Scottish newspapers before starting the horror blog-site, AndyErupts.com, in June 2011.
His first film, Dysmorphia, received several plaudits and has been described as "Quite possibly the greatest short film we have ever seen." by The Twisted Twins, Jen & Sylvia Soska (American Mary, Dead Hooker In A Trunk). It also marks Andy's first "proper" foray into directing.
Dysmorphia scooped the award for Best Practical Effects at the inaugural Rio Grind Film Festival in Vancouver in 2012 and the film has built a reputation for causing fainting and vomiting at every screening so far, winning further awards at several festivals globally.
In August 2013, Andy shot his second film, Split, which has received similar praise to Dysmorphia, being called "an absolute triumph. Just brilliant film-making", by the Soska Twins.
In April 2014, Andy directed his most ambitious project to date, Ink, set for completion in mid-2014.
Andy has also contributed to UK-based horror magazine SCREAM, website Zombiehamster.com and attended the 2012 Transilvania International Film Festival in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, as a juror in the Shadows Shorts competition.
