Trystan Go

Trystan Go is an Australian Chinese film, television and theatre actor. Go is known for his portrayal of Benjamin Law in the multi-award-winning Matchbox Pictures television series, The Family Law (2016), which aired three seasons on SBS, SBS Viceland and Comedy Central. The first episode accumulated more than 1.1 million views for its Facebook premiere ahead of the televised release and became the highest viewed program on SBS On Demand. The series won three consecutive Equity Ensemble Awards for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series, Best Casting in a TV Comedy at the Casting Guild of Australia Awards and was nominated for Best Television Comedy Series at the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) Awards. The third season premiered at the Adelaide Film Festival and won Best Comedy Programme at the Asian Television Awards. The Guardian appraised "a perfectly cast Trystan Go who... achieves some of the best sequences in Australian comedy." Go played Marcus Chambers in the science fiction action film, Occupation (2018), which sustained a global theatrical distribution and subsequently released on Netflix as the most popular show in the USA. Go reprised his role in the sequel, Occupation: Rainfall (2020), alongside Ken Jeong and Temuera Morrison, which premiered at Monster Fest and debuted as a Top 10 VOD film in the USA. Go appeared as recurring character, Bo in two seasons of the Merman and Guesswork Television dramedy, Frayed (2019), which screened on Sky UK and ABC TV. The series was later released as an HBO Max Original and received five AACTA award nominations. IndiWire described Go as "the perfect kind of addition" to the "more-than-capable ensemble [who is] right in touch with the comedic wavelengths to pull them off," and commended his ability to "ground them [characters] in reality." Go played Adam in the Stan Original thriller film, Transfusion, opposite Sam Worthington. Additionally, Go played Peng in MadKids' AACTA-nominated comedy-mystery web series, Small Town Hackers (2017), which was commissioned by Above Average. Go also played a guest role in the Mad Ones Films short film, I F*cked a Mermaid and No One Believes Me (2018), which premiered at interfilm Berlin / KUKI Festival and won the Short Film AWGIE Award. Go has performed in numerous theatre shows including, Opera Australia and The Gordon Frost Organisation's, The King and I, as Prince Chulalongkorn, alongside Lisa McCune and Teddy Tahu Rhodes at the Sydney Opera House. The production won the Helpmann Award for Best Musical.
