Michael John Treanor

Michael John Treanor was born July 13th, 1983, in Fazakerley Hospital, Liverpool, England, where his mother was a medical nurse and midwife and his father was a secondary school teacher. He has Irish and English ancestry. He spent his formative years in Spain and is therefore able to speak fluent Spanish which has been a tremendous asset in Michael being successfully cast for roles in Spain and Europe. He returned to the UK in 2010 and started attending acting classes at Merseyside Academy of Drama (MAD). It was then when Michael realised he had found his calling in life, and has since then studied his craft with his mentor David Johnson in Manchester. David has been awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM) for his life long commitment to Drama. Michael is also trained in the "Meisner Technique" taught by his American Drama teacher and friend Anthony Montes who was a student of the great Sanford Meisner himself. Michael got his first break in 2018 playing Glasgow ranger in Le monde est à toi (2018) directed by Romain Gavras which was screened at Cannes. He has since then gone on to play various roles in film and television including Intergalactic (2021), Tin Star (2017), White Lines (2020), ¡García! (2022), In from the Cold (2022) and Villain (2020) but his big breaks came in Spain and he is widely known for playing the ruthless but lovable Sergei, a member of the Russian mafia Tambov Gang in the Movistar Plus hit series Nasdrovia (2020) and also for his portrayal of Andrei, a faithful Ukrainian bodyguard in Deudas (2021) for Atresplayer and Antena 3.
