Boni Mata
Boni Mata is a Spanish-American actor, writer, and director. Her mother is British-American and her father is Andalusian. She lived her whole life between California and Mallorca, Spain, spending some years between London and France. She lives in her birthplace of Los Angeles and maintains a dwelling in Mallorca.
Boni graduated summa cum laude from the University of California, Berkeley, and studied literature at the Université de Bordeaux III and the University of Cambridge, UK where she developed a love for reading and performing theatrical works. Her passion for cinema stems from an underlying love of narrative in its many forms and has translated into an interdisciplinary career both in front of and behind the camera. She often performs in her own work, blending acting and directing in a practice that spans both comedic and dramatic genres.
Boni started her career in the music video world in 2017 and has since starred in several short films and videos for King Princess and Oliver Tree, among others. She has starred in five feature films including The Beta Test (2021) from Sundance award-winning director Jim Cummings and The Swing of Things (2020), also starring Luke Wilson, Olivia Culpo, and Chord Overstreet.
