Shannan Wilson

Shannan Wilson, actress, author and songwriter, was born and raised in Houston, Texas with her two younger siblings. Her mother, Jennifer Dylan and father, Donald Wilson, are retired school teachers and her father is an Army veteran who was in the Vietnam War. Her parents divorced when she was 13. Shannan graduated from Scarborough High School in Houston, TX where she played varsity basketball and volleyball and then attended Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX, a little town located in the East Texas pines where she majored in Radio-TV Communications and Political Science. During her college years, she was a nighttime disc jockey playing grunge on the college radio station- KSAU 90.1. A few months after graduating from college, she packed up her Toyota Tercel and moved to Denver, Colorado "just because it sounded like a good place to live." As a true Gen Xer in Denver, she went to concerts at Red Rocks and took it easy - not utilizing her college degrees whatsoever, waiting tables, bartending and modeling. After living in Denver for six years, she moved to Hermosa Beach, CA where she continued to work runway, print and commercials until 2000. Shannan then married Carl Herckner and moved to the East Coast. She and Carl have been married for 19 years and have two children. Shannan also started and ran a successful nationwide promotional staffing agency for 14 years. In 2015 she decided to pursue a full time career in acting. In addition to her burgeoning career in film and TV, Shannan has had much success in modeling, commercials and print work. Shannan is also a singer/songwriter/musician whose music can be heard on Spotify. And, she is the author of The Littlest Peanut, an inspirational baby book for parents with preemies in the NICU. She greatly enjoys watching and playing sports. Especially tennis and softball.
