Alvin J. Frazier II
Singer, songwriter, musician, producer, composer & actor. Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Alvin has been singing since the age of two and pecking at the keys since the age of three.
A self-taught musician, Alvin would teach himself to play 4 instruments; piano, guitar, bass & drums. Growing up with 2 musician parents it was inevitable that young Alvin would too pursue a path in music and the arts. Over the years he would just that, forming music groups throughout his formative years ranging in styles from R&B, Hip-Hop, Gospel to Jazz. With an outgoing personality and a natural ability to improvise and do impressions, Alvin also began to realize he had a love for acting as well and eventually decided to take acting classes in high school. It was apparent early on that the young actor / musician had the uncanny ability to bring any character to life with a convincing believability.
He would go on to appear in various plays and adaptions before taking a break from acting altogether to focus on his recording career. After an 8 year hiatus, Alvin would make a triumphant return to theater as the calculating, shrewd but misunderstood Patrick Fitzgerald in "The Bridge of No Return" a character that would ultimately re-establish him as an in-demand actor in his hometown of Cleveland OH. Alvin has appeared in numerous films, plays and television shows. A career highlight was being chosen to appear in the Miles Davis biopic "Miles Ahead" starring and directed by Academy Award Nominee Don Cheadle. In 2015, he wrote and produced his first film, a short called "Learning to Walk" for a filmmaking workshop for kids called I Dream In Color.
Aside from his acting career Alvin has released 2 albums as a vocalist, "Love & Faith: Vol. 1" (2006) and "A Wonderful Love: Love & Faith Vol. 2" (2013). He also tours and performs as a jazz musician playing guitar and bass with his group The joshua Trio. He has appeared as a musician in two high-profile films, "With this Ring" featuring Jill Scott, Regina Hall, Eve and Gabrielle Union and "Miles Ahead" with Don Cheadle, Emayatzi Corinealdi & Ewan McGregor.
In 2015, Alvin signed on to tour as the leading man in the stage play "SOULmate" starring opposite actress / singer Taral Hicks.
