Chaske Spencer

Indigenous actor and advocate Chaske Spencer stars opposite Emily Blunt in Hugo Blick's limited series "The English" (Amazon/BBC). On the feature side, he stars in "Wild Indian" which premiered at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival and has since received considerable critical acclaim. Soon to be announced, Chaske is set to star in a confidential Disney project. Born of the Lakota Sioux tribe, and raised on Indian Reservations in Montana and Idaho, Chaske's indigenous roots run deep. When he was young, he dreamt of becoming a photographer, but before long, he also found himself in front of the camera. Chaske moved to New York City and in between bartending and waiting tables, he was cast in his first off off-Broadway play, "Dracula," as the title role. He went on to perform at The Public Theater in NYC and The Roundabout, and soon was discovered by casting director Rene Haynes. Chaske is also well known for his portrayal of 'Sam Uley' in the Twilght Saga: New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn I and II. His television credits include: NatGeo's "Barkskins," NBC's "Blindspot," Netflix's "Jessica Jones," the Emmy award-winning Cinemax series "Banshee," Netflix's "Longmire," and the Amazon series "Sneaky Pete" with Bryan Cranston. In his free time, Chaske continues to use his voice to help as many people as possible. Not only has he traveled nationwide as a keynote speaker at universities and on reservations to connect with young adults, but in May 2011, he joined forces with First Lady Michelle Obama's "Let's Move! Indian Country" campaign in which he supported youth creating a healthier lifestyle through fitness and nutrition within Native American communities. Currently, his passions lie in supporting those working to find out what happened to missing indigenous women in North America.
