Tibo Vandenborre
Tibo Vandenborre (1971) is a Belgian actor born from a Flemish mother and father from the french speaking Ardennes. He started theatre school in Brussels (RITS) aged 28, in 1999, and received his Master in Dramatic Arts-degree in 2003. While playing in various theatre productions he got his first part in Michael Roskam's awarded short film"Carlo". He also played in "The one thing to do" by Michael Roskam, an award winning short film alongside Matthias Schoenaerts.
He is known for Bullhead (2011), The invader (2011), Fallow (2015), Les Chevaliers Blancs (2015), l'Economie Du Couple (2016) and Tueurs (2017).
He was nominated for Best supporting actor at the 2012 Ensors ceremony for The Invader (2011) and awarded Best Actor for Fallow (2015) at the Avanca 2016 Film Festival (Portugal).
He plays in dutch speaking and french speaking movies and is playing in English as Karel Martel alongside Jonathan Banks, who plays his father, in the historical movie Redbad (2018) by Roel Reiné.
In 2016 he trained boxing for two months, for an 8 day short film shoot about a troubled chess-boxer, Luc -i-am-that-wall- Moulin, and his twisted relationship with his father and his son. Remise (2017) by Deben Van Dam, received a special mention from the jury at the Leuven Kort Film Festival (2017).
