Tushar Dalvi
Tushar Dalvi is an Indian film, theater, and TV actor. He primarily acts in the Hindi and Marathi films and television industry.
Early Life Tushar Dalvi was born in Pimpri, a suburb in Pune, Maharashtra. After completing his primary education from a local school, he joined the Ness Wadia College of Commerce, Arts and Science, University of Pune. Throughout his years as a student, Tushar participated in numerous arts and cultural activities, which laid the foundation for him to pursue a career in acting.
Movie Career In 1992, Tushar Dalvi made his film debut with the Marathi romantic drama Jiwalagaa. The actor made his Hindi movie debut a few years later, with a role alongside Rati Agnihotri and Gulshan Grover in Bandh Jharoke (1997). In the year 2002, Tushar was seen in the Marathi film Bhet, which revolves around the emotional tale of a mother and son reuniting. The film was critically and commercially well received.
The year 2003 saw the actor feature in the Marathi social drama Not Only Mrs. Raut (2003). The film highlighted the struggles of two women in the midst of the prevalent male-dominated society. Directed by Gajendra Ahire, Not Only Mrs. Raut won the National Award for Best Film in Marathi at the 51st National Film Awards. Over the next decade, Tushar acted in numerous notable Marathi films like Devrai (2004), Sanai Chaughade (2008), and Investment (2012). He returned to Bollywood in 2016 with the crime-drama Madaari. Directed by Nishikant Kamat, the film also stars Irrfan Khan and Jimmy Shergill.
Television Career Tushar Dalvi made his television debut in 1992 with the Hindi show Kshitij Ye Nahi. He then appeared in the show Naya Nukkad. Although these shows were well received, Tushar only shot to prominence with his role as Jayant in the immensely popular C.I.D. He was cast in around 10 C.I.D. episodes in the year 1999. The actor was then seen on television in 2002 with the show Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani. After a guest role in Ssssh... Phir Koi Hai in 2007, Tushar Dalvi took a hiatus from playing major roles on the small screen. The actor returned in 2013, essaying the role of Advocate Salgaonkar in Adaalat.
Although he primarily appears in films and TV shows, Tushar Dalvi has also acted in plays like Ozawina Pravasi and Ha Shekhar Khosla Kon ahe.
